Friends,

I want to introduce you a visiting Fulbright Scholar from Sindh here in Washington DC. As we all know that, this is a social plateform and we will continue to connect our community with each other, remember Networking is the power!!!Please feel free to welcome him (shaikh@american.edu). Here what saeen says;

I belong to Khairpur Mirs district. Graduated in engineering in 1985 (80 batch) from Mehran University. Started career as Asst. Executive Engineer in Pakistan Steel and after few years joined Mehran as Asst Professor. In 1994, I was posted as Principal of historic Sindh Madressah, where I served for more than six years. It was the time that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto asked me to join SZABIST Center for Information and Research (a think-tank for Sindh's issues) as its first director, where I served till 2003, when I was again posted in Sindh Madressah. After some time I went to government of Sindh, where I served as Dirctor-General Colleges (Sindh), DG Ombudsman Secretariat Sindh, DG Environmental Protection Agency Sindh and DG Sindh Coastal Development Authority. Recently, I have reverted back to Sindh Madressah for record third time.

Academically, I hold my graduation in engineering and PhD in Mass Communication. I have written few books also, one of which was BB's biography under title "Benazir Bhutto: A Political Biography." My latest book (2007) has been "Satellite Television and Social Change in Pakistan: A Case Study of Rural Sindh"

I have been to US in 2007 also for about a month when I was invited by University of Florida to participate in an international institute on digital journalism of tomorrow. There were 18 scholars from four continents and I represented Pakistan as well as one in four from Asia. We visited DC also to visit Pentagon and State Department but it was very brief.

Gipsy Palace.. Sindhi

.... "The Gipsy Palace" at Maison Folie Moulin, part of festival Bombaysers de Lille. Where we presented a residence of 20 days to showcase and experiment all potentials from a strong 15 members group from The Sayari Circus from Udaipur. Dancers, musicians and performers who not only performed, but gave workshops of dance, music, tribal fashion and pictural arts. On the performance side, Philippe Tapp, a director of Sayari Entertainment, decided that a show would never be twice the same, and the experience from the first till the last day at the Gipsy Palace would be a continuous journey of complete improvisation and experimenting every day with a different show concept, content and set up. A true experience for both audiences, artists and technical team at Moulin !
